Chizzy

Born on August 17th, 1994, Chikondi Rodrick Chikuse Jr known by stage name Chizzy is a reggae and dancehall star based in the city of Lilongwe. Growing up he used to be listening to the iconic reggae-dancehall stars like Buju Banton,Bob Marley,Anthony B, Gentleman and Capleton just to mention a few, boosted his passion musically. Their influence in the reggae and dancehall world inspired him to start composing his own songs.

He started doing music in 2009 and 2010, he dropped his first single titled “Thanks and Praises”. Later that same year, he dropped another bang titled “Champions” which he collaborated with Macelba currently very active and well known in the music industry and 3D who has been inactive over the years.

In 2012, he was signed under Warge Records and a duo was formed under Warge Records Called ‘Blaze & Chizzy’ Which gained popularity by the song “Tidabwepo”. Later that same year this duo released a ten track album titled “Tidabwepo” which had songs like “Umandichuna” “Sindidzakuplayer”, “Ndikakusowa Nthawi” and other songs. This duo was created by Blaze & Chizzy with the great help from Wanangwa George Phiri popularly known as “Warge” (the founder of Warge Records) and the late Janet Chirambo.

Chizzy also noticed a huge expansion in his fan boundary after recording “Ndimazobha” at warge records in the year 2014 and “Nobody” in the year 2015 at LowFat Records under Tkmore.

He has made some collaborations with some notable artists in the country which include Blaze, Macelba and the late Mafunyeta. And he has worked with prominent and well known producers in the country such as Warge, Dkez walker, Viwe Chibwana just to mention a few.
