Amos Blair [Born 15th of October 1999], popularly known as Sffargol, is a Malawian Reggae Dancehall Musician, Singer & composer based in Lilongwe. Sffargol was musically natured from an early age by his big brother who exposed him to roots reggae. He is the last born in the family of 7. Sffargol began songwriting when he was a little boy. He realized this gift at an early stage of life and he accepted to use it as weapon for inspiring people, fight the oppressors, spread love & unity and preaching the word of God. Sffargol started his music recording career at the age of 14 where he recorded a couple of songs of which some of them were not released. He was greatly inspired by his big Brother “Anthony” the guitarist. Furthermore, he was also inspired by other artists like Blasto, Mad character, Sally Nyundo, Vic Marley etc.[ Country wide]. Worldwide, Sffargol has been inspired by artists like Bob Marley, Joseph Hill, Nasio Fontane, Kabaka Pyramid, Pressure busspipe , Fanton Mojah and Shabba Ranks just to mention a few. In his journey, Sffargol has been working with producers like JK Warrior [Alliance Record].
Sffargol was born at Kamuzu Barracks Hospital. He attended and graduated at kamuzu barracks secondary school. His love for music was so much greater such that he could practice and memorize songs written by Artists who inspired him musically. Sffargol wrote and recorded his first song entitled “DEM AH BOMBOCLAAT” which was a song criticizing Jealousy people. The spirit of Music in him grew stronger as he sacrificed his mind to strictly concentrate in music. His live stage shows have been always energetic and awesome since 2015.
Since he started doing music, Sffargol has been facing a lot of challenges some of which made him feel like giving up but due to passion, determination and focus he couldn’t let the spirit of giving up overcome his career such that now his music has taken over the World. In an interview with Praise Muyila, Sffargol talked about the challenges he has been facing; Financial challenges, being underrated by some big artists, Djs demanding money for music Airplay, just to mention a few. Better still he has worked with other various international Artists. In November 2019 Sffargol was featured in an international riddim produced by Donz Africa from South Africa and his music career has been greatly inspired by Blasto. In the year 2017, he won a music contract under Wales Media Ink and currently he is working under “Reggae Dancehall Army” sponsored by a Malawian Artist based in Germany “TJ BLESS”. Through his experience, Sffargol has been putting in a persistent effort and patience willingly to fulfill his music goals as he dreams of performing at the biggest live hot shows, his message in music reaching and changing people’s mindsets positively all over the world. Sffargol is a GOD fearing Man and he believes that every moment he has been encountering in his music career was/is part of GOD’S plan.
